TRANSFORMATION OPEN (MALE & FEMALE COMBINED)

INTRODUCING THE NEW TRANSFORMATION CATEGORY BY NABBA

The Transformation category is a recent addition to NABBA Australia and will be featured in most shows starting from
2024. It encompasses not only weight loss but also recognizes individuals who have overcome challenges such as eating
disorders, disease, cancer, mental health challenges, and any other health condition that has significantly impacted your
life.

This category serves as a celebratory platform to showcase personal journeys towards a healthier more positive lifestyle,
celebrating each and every individual’s transformation whatever it looks like or even doesn’t look like as many
transformations can be invisible.

DETAILS FOR THIS CATEGORY:

Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity or religion is welcome to enter.
This is the absolutely hardest category to judges and so we will focus our attention on the individuals personal journey
and transformation that resulted because of the path they have walked.

This category is all about YOU and your unique story.

Contestants will present themselves on stage at the NABBA AUST. State or National Shows.

On registration day, contestants must submit a brief write-up of their personal story, limited to 200 words or less, huge
task we know.

Contestants will receive the above mentioned transformation bio form prior to their chosen event, which must be filled
out before registration.

**IMPORTANT: CONTESTANTS MUST BRING A PRINTED HARD COPY OF THEIR PERSONAL STORY, INCLUDING THEIR TOTAL
WEIGHT LOSS OR GAIN, AND HAVE EMAILED THEIR BEFORE PHOTOS A WEEK BEFORE THE EVENT.

ROUNDS:

Contestants will be showcased live on stage, where the final outcome of their transformation will be revealed.

ROUND 1:

– Women’s Swimwear / Mens Classic trunks Round:
– Female contestants can choose between a 2-piece or 1-piece competition suit that complements their physique.
– Shoes worn should also complement the overall outfit. Standard competition heels are preferred.
Posing Criteria is the same as Bikini.

– For males:
– Men should wear classic trunks and go barefoot.

Posing Criteria is the same as Men’s Sport Physique.

Final Round: ROUND 2:
THEME WEAR ROUND.

Time to have fun and really let your hair down! This division is an OPEN to all transformation Athletes.
We encourage you to be as creative and glamorous as you can be with your costume selection and props.
Judges are looking for the athlete to show off their personality and new found confidence/Liberation as a result of all their positive changes.
Competitors will perform a T-Walk individually.
Awards will be presented with the overalls.

Transformation Judging Criteria.

Round 1 Quarter Turns

The general presentation during the quarter turns will consist of competitors presenting themselves with poise, self- confidence and posture. Although they will be in fixed but not flexed stance for ladies, a athletic Sports Physique stance for men.
The judges are looking for a great smile and the “total package”.

Round 2 – I Walk

Competitor’s will perform an I walk individually. Starting point at back of stage plinth facing judges table, head judge will
request you to walk forward to stage front, stop front stage then be requested to rotate right, left side pose, to rear pose, right side pose, to front pose, then to face rear of stage and walk back, once a rear of stage turn to front again, head
judge will then ask you to return to line up in numerical order, I walk to music of the DJ’s choice.

Males will be asked to perform similar moves but adopting men’s Sport Physique poses.

Round 3 (if required, judges option) – Comparisons:

Competitors (both male & female combined) will be called back on to stage. Competitor numbers will be called
requesting them to come front / centre stage in small groups of 4- 6.

Judges will request the following from the line-up.

1. A pose from the front
2. A pose from left side
3. A pose from the back
4. A pose from the right side
5. One or two for your favourite poses

Athletes who are not in the line-up are asked to remain with no posing.
