Open Female

Bodybuilders are judged on the OVERALL QUALITY of their muscular
development.
1. Muscularity
2. Definition / Conditioning
3. Proportion
4. Symmetry

– Symmetry will only be called upon in the case of final callout / comparisons between 2 or more final
athletes of similar Muscularity and Conditioning.

DEFINITION
Muscularity:

The perception of muscular size has been the foundation for bodybuilding since the beginning of the sport. Yet, mass is only a merit when accompanied by a degree of Definition / Conditioning

Definition / Conditioning:

Indicates the degree of muscularity brought about by the absence of subcutaneous body fat. Defined muscularity is necessary to fully display the development of the physique. Definition is only of value, when balanced with the developed muscles on display.

Proportion:

Implies an even balance of muscular development in comparison to each muscle group. Theoretically, a “strong body part” can be just as detrimental as a “weak body part”. Bodybuilders must strive for equal development between all muscle groups where possible.
(Differing impairments will be taken into consideration)

Symmetry:

Symmetry used along side “proportion” to indicate an aesthetic quality throughout the physique. Although, in its strictest definition, symmetry denotes equal development of muscularity on both right and left sides of the physique where possible for this class.

Stage Presence:

Stage Presence Includes posing performance and other factors influencing general appearance such as, grooming, charisma, and poise. Effective stage presentation is essential to display the physique to its maximum potential. (Athletes can adapt each required pose to suit their individual ability)

Attire:
MALE:

Athletes are required to wear suitably fitting CLASSIC Style trunks black in colour. Wheelchair Athletes are permitted long, loose fitted, black track style pants (no large branding on display)

FEMALE:

Athletes are required to wear a suitably fitting 2 piece compitition bikini in any colour. Female Wheelchair Athletes are permitted Long, loose fitted black track style pants (no large branding on display) along side a 2 piece compitition bikini top.

Round 1: Quarter Turns / Comparisons

Competitors will line up at the posing line with a front position. The judges will instruct competitors with “Quarter Turn To The Right” until they are facing the judges once more. The athletes may be split and/or rearranged to allow accurate assessment by all judges. Competitors will hold each front position to demonstrate the muscularity and condition of their physiques.

The judges may request the following poses for comparison

1. Lat Spread
2. Front Double Bicep
3. Side Chest (any side)
4. Side Triceps (any side)
5. (Abs and Thighs if applicable)
6. Rear Lat Spread
(showing Hamstring and Calf if applicable)
7. Rear Double Bicep
8. Face front – Most Muscular

NOTE: At any point if an Athlete is unable to perform a pose request, they may perform a modified pose of their choice to emphasise the desired muscle group. This important round will have significance when the judges are determining the initial “call-outs” for round 3 if required.

Round 2: Routine

Each competitor will be given the opportunity to perform an individual posing routine. (This is not compulsory) This is the opportunity to display their physiques to the judges without distraction. It is advised that athletes present themselves with confidence and control of their physique where possible. Displaying each muscle group to the best of their ability. Athletes can use mandatory and non-mandatory poses of their choice. Routines to be a minimum of 60 seconds.

Round 3 Comparisons

Competitors may be called back on to stage. Competitor numbers will be called requesting them to come front / centre
stage in small groups of 2 – 6, known as the “call-outs”.

The judges may request the following poses for comparison.

2. Front Double Bicep
3. Side Chest (any side)
